VACCINATIONS?

Well, there is a measles outbreak right now in America and as a result Congress is all fired up. The nerve of some people to refuse vaccinations because they don’t want their children to suffer autism is beyond them.

I was concerned about the effect vaccinations would have on my children when they were babies and so I researched the danger. I checked out a book from the library called “A Shot in the Dark”. This book, which was written by Harris L. Coulter and Barbara Loe Fisher, examines the dangers of vaccinations.

After reading that book it was I who dictated just when and what my children would be immunized against. I had seen a little boy who had been severely impaired by the MMR shot and I didn’t want the same thing to happen to any of my kids.

I allowed the Tetanus shot but did not allow the Diptheria shot until they were much older. The whooping cough which is now in the population can commonly be treated with antibiotics and it is not necessary to give a vaccination such as this to babies. At least not the American vaccine. Japan has a much safer vaccine when compared to what Americans are forced to give their babies. May explain why Japanese seem to have a higher intelligence than most Americans. Just saying…

What irritates me about this whole debate is that the press and Congress are clearly missing the boat. Having gone through nursing college I know exactly why vaccines are necessary. I support the vaccinations of children on one condition. The vaccines must be safe.

It is not just one parent who claims that their child was fine before an immunization and then damaged thereafter. Their are scads of parents who have stories to tell. Thank God because of my research and diligence I don’t have a tragic story to share.

So my question is this. Knowing that immunizations are scientifically valid in our fight against contagious diseases, why are we not putting our attention and money into making them as safe as what Japan offers to their children?
