We begin this life as solitary creatures. We begin in a womb and return to dust.
Throughout our life we branch out as if we are a tree. The branches seek the sunshine of love and extend out to touch family and friends. Our roots dig deep for a belief system which can nurture our trunk and branches.
As life courses through us we all have a desire to unite with someone else. Someone whom we can trust and love in a special way. Someone who will become one with us within God’s covenant of marriage.
Two who become one are stronger than each on their own. The devil does not favor this strength. Through deceit and betrayal he rips the oneness apart to leave gaping wounds of emotional and spiritual pain.
So now one must be solitary again.
But alas, if you have God you are never alone. You may feel alone, for it hard to hug a Spirit. If your roots go deep you will realize that loving a Spirit is sometimes easier than loving someone who betrays.
As you look at life through the prism of eternity, love of another is temporary, God’s love is eternal and unconditional.
If you are seeking to become one with a person who is not connected to God you may be seeking love in vain.
