THE MERCY SEAT

Today as I was preparing for another day of editing my novel, The Shattered Vase, I decided to listen to a praise song before I started editing. I wanted to usher in the presence of God.  The song that God led me to was The Revelation song by Phillips, Craig and Dean.

As I listened to this song it occurred to me that when God made the ark of the covenant, he had a mercy seat on top of the laws which were to be kept. I found this so touching when I was reading the Old Testament.

I was humbled to realize today that Christ has become the mercy seat for me. Every time God looks at me, because I believe in the power of Jesus’ blood, I will be considered righteous through the sacrifice of Jesus.

What an assurance of true love that is. May God be praised and glorified for the sacrifice of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.
