THE BEAUTY OF A BROKEN HEART

Suffering a broken heart is anguish but it is not without benefit.

A heart which has not been hurt may still beat but not near as strong and as vibrant as a heart which, torn to shreds struggles to survive. Once it starts beating again it is encased with thick scars from the battle.

Both are beautiful hearts but the one with scars, that is struggling to regain its strength, has a tendency to not be so enthralled with its own beauty.

This heart looks outward to see the crevices in another’s heart and rushes to stop the bleeding with love and encouragement.

The obsession with its own beauty is long past gone because of the scars that betrayal has left. Through healing the broken heart realizes that one of the greatest gifts you can get is to not receive love, but instead give it.

For if it is all about receiving then the pain may return if you don’t receive. If it is instead about giving love then the power lies within the giving.

That is the beauty of a broken heart.
