This Sunday I had a most delightful breakfast. My boyfriend and I walked to his church and then on the way home stopped by a very quaint and beautiful French restaurant, St Martin’s.
I have been there before but this time I was so impressed by the beautiful European decor. The woodwork is rich in hue and the walls are littered with paintings. There is a man who serenades the customers with delightful piano playing and the wait staff is beyond superb.
We are both quite financially strapped so we are very careful about not spending too much when we go out to eat. We looked at the brunch menu and realized that we could eat a five star meal for under 50$.
I started out with a small but delicious Bellini and then had a Champagne Brie soup for an appetizer. The soup was silky and smooth. This was followed by the best French toast in the world and bacon that was cooked so perfectly it was beyond delish. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and light and the coffee was rich in flavor.
We were seated in a room to the side in a very comfortable booth which was undoubtedly the best seat in the house. We could see the front door and observe who was entering but we were not distracted by anyone else.
My boyfriend says he always treats me like a queen. On this morning I actually felt as if I was royalty.
