SHOWING GOD’S LOVE

I have a Macbook and I love my Macbook. It is in close running for the best friend category right next to my kindle. (God of course is above the best friend category. He is my confidant, love of my life and my King.)

Unfortunately my Macbook hasn’t seemed to be loving me lately. It has been very slow with browsing so I took it to the Apple store. They tested it and it worked beautifully at the store.

I thought that only happened with cars but apparently my Mac and my car had something in common.

They told me it was my system in my house. So I called Verizon and they were wonderful to work with. I got my system working smoothly.

I spoke to an absolutely lovely woman with Verizon about that problem and she was superb in helping me fix it.

Then I did a stupid thing, I cleaned my keyboard. I didn’t know you shouldn’t spray the cleaner on the keyboard. I proceeded to make the “a” key and the delete key nonfunctional.

UGH! So now I had to go back to the Apple store in Southlake Town Square. I was waited on by a wonderful young man named Brandon. His appearance resembled that of Ben Affleck so I was not one bit unhappy about having him wait on me. In fact I was flattered.

He got me set up with the genius bar and soon my Mac was behind the white doors and in the repair shop for a whole new keyboard.

They said it would take 3-5 days to repair my best friend.

I had to use my Asus laptop in the meantime and that was a bit frustrating because it does not browse well at all. It ended up being a bit over that amount of time and I gave them a couple of phone calls to get my little computer friend bumped up to the priority list.

When I picked it up, I took it home, thrilled to get my buddy back in my lap.

There was something wrong though, the touch pad didn’t work right.

God has done so much in my life lately to change my heart that I got just a teensy bit angry but not all out hysterical about it. Believe me I used to do “hysterical” like an award winning actress.

I called them back and got another genius bar appointment set up and had a talk with myself about how I was going to act when I got to the store. I reminded myself that they hadn’t been the stupid one who had  drowned the computer to begin with and I needed treat them with God’s love and not jump down their throats for a problem that had originated with me.

Brandon noticed me and came over to me and I told him the truth. He was a dead ringer for Ben Affleck. He said only his mother said that to him. Obviously she has very good eyesight.

We had a very nice conversation and he got me set up at the genius bar.

I was already thinking I would be mourning my Mac for a few more days but it took those genius’ a  just few minutes to make my Mac back into my perfect lap buddy again. They had to tighten a screw. That was all!

I tried to be as kind as I could to them and I was treated with the same kindness.

It is interesting to note that I saw a lady steaming with indignation, just like I would have used to act. She was still steaming when I walked out with my perfect Mac buddy, a smile plastered to my face.

Showing God’s love to people can transform a business transaction into a blessing instead of a burden to those who are involved in the transaction. It not only becomes a blessing but it enables those transactions to be quick and seamless.

I hope and pray I continue to be a blessing cause the good Lord knows I have had many years of  being a burden and I have a lot of catching up to do in the blessing department.
