I had a date with Jesus.
We went to a Seder celebration at my church. For those who do not know, a Seder celebration is done in remembrance of the Passover feast.
I am not Jewish but my church has Messianic services.
I started going to these services because of research for my book, The Wall Creeper. I was hoping I could snag a Jewish historian and pick his/her brain for all of the factual information that I felt I needed for the novel.
I didn’t meet a historian but the preacher is funny. When I read through the old testament and all of the rules I seriously need a large does of “funny,” so I am good with that.
The preacher explained each course and the significance of each item on the table and the symbolism that it held.
It was very informative but it was more than that, it was also a great time of fellowship.
I got to meet new people and made some new friends. I even got invited to a new kind of church.
The church is one which meets in a person’s home. I have always felt as if that was what a church was supposed to be, so I am totally in on that idea.
That wasn’t the funnest part though. The funnest part was the praise and worship time at the end of the service.
Jewish praise music just makes me want to dance. They have dance classes at this church before the Messianic service. If my aching right knee will allow me, I am going to learn how to dance to the music.
Why do I want to learn how to dance in church?
People, one of these days the marriage supper between my eternal husband, Christ, and his church (which includes me) is going to happen.
When that special event happens, I am so going to know how to bust a move on the dance floor of heaven!
