RUDE OR STUPID?

Usually when I go to New York City it is to shop and to have fun. This time it is for business.

I know that New Yorkers have a reputation for being rude. I haven’t had that experience on past trips but today I saw a bit of rude behavior that made me want to put a few adults into a time out.

After settling into my hotel at Hotel Pennsylvania I had to go to the Marriott to register for the Affiliate Summit. I was starving though, so I figured I would eat at a restaurant in the hotel. Unfortunately their sandwiches were out of my budget so I slipped out and went down the street for a slice of pizza.

While there I started talking with a nice couple from North Carolina and the woman commented on my beautiful dress. Well that was just an excuse to promote Zulily which is where I bought the dress from. (Look at the ad on my side bar).

Then I saw a really cute dress shop which had adorable dresses so I stopped in there. The clerk also commented on my Zulily dress saying how beautiful it was. She had wonderful clothes in her store also but again, they were out of my price range.

So I ventured on, trying to find the Marriott. I asked people on the street and police officers and no one knew where the Marriott was at. Sheesh, I was thinking at least the police officers would know.

So I finally asked a street vendor and he pointed me in the right direction.

Then I got caught up in a traffic jam of people. I swear it was a throng of people that were going the speed of a snail. The only people who were going fast were a few individuals who were very rude and said “Excuse me” in a loud voice and pushed through the crowd. I passed a petite lady who was walking with her husband when one of these rude people decided to pull that stunt. She said “No” and blocked the rude young man. Her husband turned to him and said “We are all in the same boat, bro.”

Pretty soon I heard a woman saying “Excuse me” behind me and I blocked her. I didn’t think that her journey was any more important than mine.

So I finally got to the Marriott and registered for my event. I wanted to find a place to sit down to look over the agenda and there was nowhere to sit. Someone said there was places to sit in the lobby. So I went down to the lobby and found not one seat in the whole lobby so I finally went outside and sat on a stone bench.

I had barely sat down when I felt a whoosh go by. I looked up and saw an SUV which had barely missed running over my toes. I looked up and saw two elderly people sitting in the SUV laughing hysterically. My toesies were quivering with fear and they were laughing?

I was incensed and I kept watching the wrinkled old woman as she got out of the SUV still laughing and as I looked at her license plate I saw she was from Florida.

I looked closer and saw that they had bought the SUV from the DIMMIT AUTOMOTIVE GROUP. Those stupid people in Florida don’t even know how to spell DIMWIT because I am sure that these people bought their monster car from the DIMWIT AUTOMOTIVE GROUP.

So at the end of the day I was relieved to be in New York City where people are occasionally rude instead of Florida where they can’t even spell DIMWIT when they are one.
