I have a problem

Well, I actually have more than one but I will start out with the most pressing problem to date.

I have some pretty disabling pain in my right knee. It hurts some most days and at night time sometimes it hurts quite a bit.

I know that most people go to the doctor when they have crippling pain such as this. If you have not noticed from reading this blog I am not like most people. (which is a problem all in itself)

I am not crazy. What I am is stubborn, obstinate and a natural healer. Most maladies that my body has caught, in some way or another, I have healed myself.

I have a degree in nursing and I learned a lot in my microbiology and biochemistry classes. So I have no problem dissecting a disease and taking it apart to the microcellular level, at which point I attack it with whatever herb or natural product will kill it.

Six years ago I was starting to swim laps in my neighborhood pool and something happened to my right knee which caused the same pain that I am having now.

I took all of the herbs that were supposed to be good for the joints and found no relief.

Then I happened upon a husband of a neighbor of mine and I asked him how his wife was doing. He said she was doing a lot better and had avoided knee surgery by taking cod liver oil. He told me that the best cod liver oil was lemon flavored and he even told me where I could obtain the product.

I obtained that product faster than most people get up out of bed.

I took a tablespoon every day and one week my knee kept popping and popping and popping and after enough popping the pain was gone.

I have been taking cod liver oil with this recent resurgence of pain and it has not helped that much yet.

So my knee has become a topic of conversation with my boyfriend on a frequent basis. When I described the pain to him he said that is how his toe felt when he had gout.

I had told him when he had gout to start eating cherries because they are a natural way to kill gout pain. He loves cherries and even made a cherry pie for our Easter celebration yesterday. The cherries that he ate took care of his gout.

This morning I was thinking about my knee and wondering if it was gout or not and I happened upon a very analytical way to evaluate whether it was gout or not.

I could eat one cherry pie a day for two weeks and if the pain was gone it was gout if it wasn’t gone it was arthritis.

Don’t you just love how I figure things out?

    1. Awww, how sweet… I am doing much better now. I find that if I take some fish oil, the correct vitamins and some herbal supplements that my knee feels just fine. I have to become disciplined to take them on a daily basis though. My tendency is to stop taking them as soon as I feel better. I am getting better at that though. Thanks again for your kind words it was sweet.
