THE PRESENCE OF GOD

Many times I think I expect God to move in thunder and lightening within my life. In looking for the grand sometimes we bypass the minute little miracles which God directs us to. When we do such things as that we may miss the presence of God.

Lately I have been so caught up in my own success and the frustration of it not happening in my time frame that I have simply tossed aside little gracious acts of God.

Like the other night when I was up late at night and for some reason I went to the kitchen and at that moment I heard a plaintive meow from my back door. I opened the door and my daughter’s siamese cat was outside. He loves to be outside but he is never allowed out at night.

He is sooo beautiful, white fur with orange markings and crystal clear blue eyes. I am so thankful to God that I could gather him in before the night time turned harsh and scary for him.

Then today I had made some cookies for my neighbors as a thank you gift for a computer mouse that they had given me and I almost toppled over a vase of flowers on my porch. My daughters darling boyfriend had sent over a beautiful bouquet because she had been sick during the night.

There are some days that I don’t even walk out my front door so the fact that I happened upon the flowers when they were fresh was in essence a tiny miracle.

I have learned that to enjoy the slight mist of tiny miracles is something which is a wonderful way to feel the presence of God.
