AT THE PINNACLE OF THE TEMPLE

was where the devil tempted Jesus again.  This time he used Jesus’ weapon against Him. He used the Word of God against God’s son, sneaky little devil.

The devil told Jesus to jump off of  a pinnacle of the temple. After forty days and nights without food a common human would have jumped, for what good is life if one does not have food?

Then the devil pulled out a very sharp sword and implied that God would reward this foolishness by saying,”He shall give His angles charge over you, In their hands shall they bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.”

Jesus retorted back, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.”

Although God could have caught Jesus and probably would have, Jesus was not about to take orders from the devil.

It was a matter of choice. Jesus chose to obey God. We have the same choice every day in our lives, to walk in the darkness of sin or to shine in the light of God’s love.
