There are many people in the world today who are unhappily married. I was talking with a new friend about this today and I told him that I thought I knew the reason.
When you date someone and there is chemistry it is very easy to cross the line into sex. I have done it and most Christian singles I know have committed this sin.
Bravo to those who have resisted.
Once you cross that line you start justifying the relationship according to a standard other than God’s standard. You become complacent about the things that you originally were bothered by, especially if the sex is good.
In James 4 it says we become double minded when we walk in sin. I think that may mean we become confused. We know better but we succumb to fleshly lusts and then we get distracted from the purpose and destiny that God has created us for.
We fail to see the other person clearly when we do this because sin tends to blind and there is no better blinder than lust.
I would encourage those of you who are single Christians to seek God first and only Him. In James 4 it says to flee from the devil. If you are unable to resist temptation may I suggest that you always meet in a public place and during the daylight hours?
If it is His will for you to marry again, He will make it happen the right way.
It is difficult, if not impossible, to get to heaven by walking the path of Satan. You can’t get to paradise by walking through hell.
