THE EFFECTS OF LAUGHTER AND FRIENDS

I reconnected with some friends last night in Dallas. Actually they were friends of my boyfriend when I had dated him previously. We all met at Terilli’s in Dallas. That restaurant is so special to my boyfriend and I because every time we walk in the door we open a treasure chest of wonderful memories.

Last night another precious memory was added to the chest.

We met two other couples for dinner and these couples had been friends of my boyfriend for over twenty years. They have always been so accepting of me and I appreciate that more than I can say.

We enjoyed some wine and delicious Italian food and lots of laughter. It was such a pleasant dinner and reminded me of all of the dinners Jesus had with his disciples where they just sat back and enjoyed each other.

We ate our dinner on the bottom floor of the exquisite restaurant and then walked up to the rooftop to enjoy a view of Dallas. We stayed up there for a short time and then meandered down to the second floor where we sat by a fireplace. There were three large chairs by the fireplace and each couple shared a chair.

As we were talking and laughing one young man walked briskly past us and told us we were a really cute bunch. One of my ladies said he probably said that because we were older than the average patron of that restaurant.

We laughed a bit and then another young lady stopped by and said once again what a cute group we were. We asked her to take some pictures of us to help us engrave the delightful memory in our minds. She was very sweet and obliging. She talked to us for awhile and then left to go on her way.

We continued to enjoy each other and there were some times that I was laughing so hard I seriously thought I may lose control of my bladder. (I didn’t don’t worry those chairs are still good to sit on.)

We finally accepted the fact that we may in fact be a bit “cute”. I figure at 51 I will take “cute” whenever I can get it.

So if you want people to think you are cute just relax, have a good time and laugh so hard that you think your bladder may burst. Believe me that is a lot cuter than being angry.
