DO KIDS EVER OUTGROW EASTER BASKETS?

Last year I decided to do something different for Easter. I have two adorable little boys who live next to me and I decided that I would make them Easter baskets.

I was shopping at Walmart for the cute little tykes when I got a pang of guilt. Here I was shopping for the neighborhood boys and I had not gotten anything for my son in Florida for Easter. So I started shopping for him.

Usually since my children are older (18-22) I bypass the stuffed animals and colored eggs. I buy them toiletries, maybe a new article of clothing and other practical items.

My boys get some candy thrown in because they both are water polo stars and they can afford to eat candy. My daughter is very conscientious about what she eats so I am careful about not overloading her basket with candy.

I enjoy sending my son care packages. I enjoyed sending my daughter the same when she was not living with me. She said she didn’t know how she would have survived without my packages of goodies when she was not living in Texas.

If you have children that have flown the coop don’t think that they have relinquished their desire for Easter baskets. Sometimes when a young bird has flown out of the nest is when you need most to let them know that your strong wings will always extend to them.
