Yesterday I had jury duty again. I also had attitude. What I can’t figure out is why the heck they don’t get the senior citizens to do jury duty?
I mean most of them are very intelligent and if they can drive I do not know why they are exempt after 70 years of age.
I certainly didn’t like getting the pay either, only 6$ for a full day. That didn’t even cover my parking charge.
On Monday night I turned on Netflix after a 10.5 hour day of working my bottom off. I had the opportunity to watch The Boys of Abu Ghraib.
I finished the movie tonight. I think everyone in America should watch that movie and I think it should be a requirement for every Civics class in junior high.
After watching most of the movie I woke up early to go to jury duty and they gave a little pep talk before we all got our assignments. They said that doing jury duty was serving your country. They said that we were just as important as the soldiers who were risking their lives in the military.
I was assigned to a court room in the criminal court building and while waiting for questioning I finished up some work on my tablet and put an order in for some herbal medication.
After waiting about an hour they released us because there had been a plea bargain.
I thought again about how I had served my country and I was happy that I only had to serve it about 2-3 hours. Unlike the men who serve in the military who give up years of their lives and suffer disabilities and so much more than I could ever imagine. To say that doing jury duty in any way compares to their sacrifice is just total bullshit.
They are heroes and I am a pitiful coward.
I know that there are some military personnel who follow my blog and I just want to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every single one of you are amazing and I am truly grateful for every sacrifice whether it be big or small that you make. I pray that God will shield you from harm and give you wisdom to fight and win.
