My daughter was a social butterfly in high school. She flitted in and out of the house, landing only for a bit to be fed and get some sleep, before she flew out the door again.
I had no idea what she was doing. I suspected that she was drinking but I was pretty certain she was not doing drugs.
It was after she left home and started living on her own that I discovered her facebook page.(I know I am a social media illiterate) When I saw her facebook page I finally found out just where she had been during those high school years and I must say I was shocked that suspicions were very justified about her drinking habits.
I didn’t think about putting a monitoring device on her cell phone or her computer but for her own safety I think it would have been justified.
I know my ex-husband has put one on both of my son’s cell phones when they were living under his roof.
I believe in this day and age that a monitoring system on the cell phone and/or the computer may be a life saver. It is not that you are being a control freak it is merely that you want to know the location and activities of someone you love. Let’s face it the world is not a safe place for children or teenagers anymore and it is our responsibility as parents to protect our loved ones.
