I heard the news while driving home from a business meeting, David Letterman was going to retire.
This evening I watched the show, not because that is what I usually do, I just left the TV on after watching the news about the severe weather our area had experienced.
I listened to David about why he had decided to retire. It had all started when he spent a day fishing with his son, Harry. They had spotted an unusual bird who looked like a golden Eagle, which is very rare.
He had his whole staff analyze the picture of the bird the next day and they decided that he had actually seen an immature bald eagle.
When he returned home to his wife that evening she asked him about his day and he could not even remember who had been on his show, but he knew what kind of bird he and his son had spotted.
He was smart enough to realize that his desire had changed in life and his desire was to invest more time with his lucky son, Harry.
Now that is a man who is a class act. I wish David the same success as a wonderful Dad as he has had as a top notch Late Night TV host. I have a sneaky suspicion he won’t have any problem achieving that success.
