Being considerate doesn’t take that much. It takes just a little bit of time and thought.
The other day as I was traveling back home from seeing my son in Louisiana I saw a man who had neither the time nor the thought process for consideration.
The event occurred at a gas station. The station was very busy and there were cars at all of the pumps with a couple of the pumps starting to form a line.
I searched for someone who I thought was close to being done so I could pull in and start filling up. I saw a man with a truck and a trailer who was pulled up next to a pump. He looked like he may be working so I thought he may be in a hurry.
As I looked closer I realized that he had parked his pickup next to the pump and gone in to get a coffee and a snack and hadn’t even started the gas flowing into his truck.
I guess his stinking cup of coffee was more important than being considerate.
The other day I had to park my car all day in my companies parking lot. At first I parked close to the front door but when I got out of the car I realized how inconsiderate that was and I moved it to the back of the parking lot. My friend that I was training commented on my considerate act.
The coolest thing about that was that at the back of the parking lot there were some trees which could shade my car for a day. So being a considerate person scored me a tree.
If more people took the time to be considerate the world would be a much kinder place to live and you may even score a tree in the process. 🙂
