BEWARE OF BECOMING AN AMAZON AFFILIATE

I love to blog but as you all know, not a one of you has to pay to read my writing. I have not made an income for close to two years and my savings account is running dry.

As a result I have tried different methods to transform this blog into an income producing source.

I recently have developed an advertising package to try and entice businesses to buy an ad page on my blog but I have had very little interest.

I also have become involved in affiliate marketing and have told some of my friends if they want to order things for mother’s day to order through my blog.

Some of my friends have ordered through Amazon and I have gotten a very small cut from Amazon for their orders. Amazon has a program though where if you have a certain amount of orders they increase the commission.

So I worked on increasing the amount of the orders, thinking that once I reached a higher level it would make all of the work I do more worthwhile.

That was until I looked at my Amazon earnings summary this morning and realized that they had zeroed out my balance and started me all over at the very smallest referral fee ever because a new month happened to start.

This is in addition to them waiting a whole 60 days to even send me a penny, which is outrageous

I have brought to their company over $1,000 in business and they have rewarded me with less than $50.00. In other words it hasn’t paid me shit to advertise for them.

I thought if they kept increasing the commission percentage it may eventually be a bit of money which could at least pay for a tank of gas.

Today when I looked at my earnings summary I lost all respect for Amazon. To punish someone for working for your company and trying to be successful by zeroing out all of their success after the first month is just ludicrous business philosophy.

As a result I will take down most of my glaring ads on Amazon and leave just a little snippet for those who want to buy from them. I will further more do NO more promotional articles for that greedy and poorly run company, nor will I beg and plead for any of my friends to order from Amazon.

In fact, I am on a mission to find other affiliates which offer much better quality and savings to my readers than Amazon does, in addition to more income potential for me.

I am also going to rethink self publishing my novels through Amazon and try a different route because as a company I think they stink.

I am also considering making this a subscription blog because my traffic numbers indicate I have value as a writer and it takes a lot of my time to write good content. As a result the free ride may soon be over folks.

Take a look at my other affiliate ads if you want good quality because some of them at least pay a worthwhile amount and have a lot better quality products than Amazon has.
