I have attended several networking groups over the past year for business ventures I have launched or been a partner in. The whole thing about networking groups is that they are business people selling to more business people. If no one understands or needs your business they are a waste of time.

That is the negative aspect of a networking group. The positive aspect is; if it is a good group you have a way to get about anything and everything you could ever want from someone who is dying to sell it to you.

I thought I needed a printer cartridge so I bought a couple from one of my contacts through a networking group. I waited a while to use them and then put the cartridges into my printer. It printed a neon green color for everything! YIKES!

I contacted my business associate and asked him for a refund. He said he would exchange them. I am not one to give second chances. I have learned too often that second chances are just a waste of time. So I said I would prefer a refund.

Well he did not live next door. We tried to meet but it didn’t work out. In the past I would have gotten a bit ugly at this point and become confrontational. I chose not to go that route this time. I chose to set it aside until I could deal with it.

This morning I did not have to be at work until 10 am so I decided I could swing by the networking meetup that I met him at. I messaged him my intention and this morning I gave him the neon green cartridges and he gave me back my money and we remained professional and friendly with each other.
