I recently had been talked into applying for a job with a new company. Two of my dear friends work for this company. I had heard excellent things about their compensation package and with three kids in college I take compensation very seriously. So I went to their website and loaded my resume’.
I didn’t hear from them. Then when I was overseas they decided to call and offer me a position. It took me awhile to get back to them when I got back in the country. I wanted to know more about the position before I was going to jump ship from my present company. So I set an appointment up for today.
At least that is what I thought I did. When I got to the appointment I was told that it had been yesterday when I was supposed to be there. Oopsy! Actually I was a bit relieved. I had been driving in a car with no air conditioner all day long and it was like over 100 degrees in my car. I was a sweaty mess. Not exactly how I want to make a good first impression.
The boss said she would call me and set up another appointment. I kind of got the feeling that it would be a cold day in hell before that call would be made. lol But I didn’t get in the dumps about it because I had prayed about this opportunity and told God if he didn’t want me working for them to put an obstacle in my way. Having different days in mind for an appointment is definitely an obstacle.
I had heard from one of my friends who is a nurse how great the company was but she just started with them. Any company is going to be amazing to begin with because of the newness of it. Within three months the honeymoon phase is over and the claws come out and that is when I want to know what her opinion of this company is.
The cool thing about this is that I asked for God to be involved, so all of the craziness that happened didn’t undo me. If He wants me to work for this company He will make it happen and if He doesn’t, then I am fine where I am at.
