I am somebody who can not stomach an animal or child being abused. I have a container of food in my backyard in case any feral cats want to stop by for a bite to eat. I have had the same feral cat for over a year. She has made my beautiful backyard her home.
At first I couldn’t touch her. Now she lets me pick her up and is a load of purrs when I do.
Recently, I noticed there was something wrong with her forehead. Her hair was matted in a weird way. I just continued to feed her and love on her as much as I could.
Then today her hair was gone from that spot and I noticed she had a wound. I thought about putting some triple antibiotic ointment on it. I was planning on getting the tube and squeezing a bit right on the wound.
The Holy Spirit instructed me to get a qtip, put some ointment on the qtip, and then gently apply it to the wound. He didn’t want me to touch the wound with undue force. He was concerned that this sweet kitty would not suffer pain.
So I did just that.
I was touched by how much God cared for this feral cat. He took the time to instruct me in detail as to how to take care of a wound that was 2 mm in diameter and already mostly healed.
This reminded me of the verse about sparrows in Luke 12:6 “Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies?[a] And not one of them is forgotten before God.”
To worship a God who is so loving that he cares about the smallest detail in regards to something which is commonly disregarded by humans is a privilege and an honor. What an absolute love He is!
Who do you worship? I hope that you worship an entity which is filled with love like my God is. I would want nothing less than that for you.
