When I wrote The Shattered Vase I didn’t write it alone. I was writing with God. As a result, it is a much more symbolic and brilliant masterpiece than anything I could have written solo.
The Shattered Vase is a fictional tale about spiritual warfare. It transposes this world and enters the supernatural.
When I describe the principalities of darkness I portray them as entities but they don’t take on a human form. Adultery, with her blonde curls and ample cleavage was described in human terms but was never actually human. She was a form which could enter the mind of a man or woman and entice them to commit sexual sin.
Whereas the spiritual beings which were closely associated with God were named for characteristics of God, such as: Hope, Faith, Joy, Grace and Mr. Mercy. These spiritual beings were characterized as humans which had supernatural access.
My first editor balked at this idea. He said they both had to have the same power. I fired him.
I kept writing the story which God had inspired me to write and finished it on Valentine’s day of 2018. I released the novel in December of 2018.
It was only recently that this dichotomy was revealed to me as being an inspiration from God.
The reason why God did not allow me to characterize the principalities of darkness as being in human form is because the devil hasn’t sacrificed one blooming thing to enter into us.
God, on the other hand, sacrificed His greatest love, His only son, Jesus Christ.
It is our choice what we open ourselves up to. We can allow the devil to lie, steal and destroy us. The other choice is to open hearts to God. He has demonstrated his love through sacrifice, in the hopes that He could call us His children.
Romans 5:8(NIV) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Seems like a pretty simple decision to me. I am at a loss as to why people just don’t get it.
