HURT FEELINGS

I got my feelings hurt this morning. I was trying reach out to someone who was having health problems and I believe I may have reached too far. In my desire to drum up prayers for their situation I offended them. So I was very kindly put in my place.

Immediately I recoiled, shed a few tears, prayed a lot over the situation and then decided to move on. For at the end of my life it will not be about my feelings. It will be about theirs. It will not be about the words they said to me but rather the words I spoke on their behalf. When I pass on after this life it is more important that I have considered other people’s feelings than my own. It is much more crucial that I have accomplished God’s desire for my life than to have indulged in a reckless pursuit of my own wants.

For it really isn’t about me, it is always about the other person. Why should it be so?

If I am truly a Christian, then I am to become Christ-like.

Christ had every reason to be proud. He was an integral part of the trinity but he chose to be humble instead. As it says in Philippians 2:6-He existed in the form of God, yet he gave no thought to seizing equality with God as his supreme prize.[d] 7 Instead he emptied himself of his outward glory by reducing himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human! 8 He humbled himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient.[e] He was a perfect example, even in his death—a criminal’s death by crucifixion![f]

9 Because of that obedience, God exalted him and multiplied his greatness! He has now been given the greatest of all names!

10 The authority of the name of Jesus causes every knee to bow in reverence! Everything and everyone will one day submit to this name—in the heavenly realm, in the earthly realm, and in the demonic realm.[g] 11 And every tongue will proclaim in every language: “Jesus Christ is Lord Yahweh,”[h] bringing glory and honor to God, his Father![i]
