GOLD DIGGER

Some women have a reputation for being a gold digger. Let me set you straight on that! Men can also be a gold digger!

During the first part of the pandemic I had connected with a new guy from a dating site. We really hit it off. He was talking about marrying me and we hadn’t even known each other for a month! (Crazy right?) Plus we had never seen each other.

The relationship was fun, exciting and inspirational to me. I shared my testimony and told him I was celibate until marriage. He was okay with that. I enjoyed the relationship and decided I would pray over it.

It soon became unhinged.

He started asking me to do things for his business with no compensation on my part. Things which he should have been able to do himself.

One of the things he wanted me to do was to set him up with a Google voice number. In the process, I set my own google voice number up. I could not figure out how to set him up with his own number though. After taking close to two full days I told him I could not do it.

He started to get verbally abusive.

I was crushed. My sweet love was turning into a monster! I had dated enough monsters to know one when I saw one. Verbal abuse and cussing me out is not on my agenda for happiness.

I googled “setting up a google voice number as a con,” thinking he may be a scam artist. Asking another person to set up a google voice is a low level scam but it IS a scam. The other thing I googled was his name. I could not find his identity on google at all.

So I called him on the scam. Then I backed down because I did have some feelings for this guy. Plus, he was totally dreamy looking.

Well, just when I thought I might be able to meet him, I find out he is going to Alaska to dig for gold! He was actually doing more than digging for gold, he was dredging for gold. He had a contract that was worth more than 3 million dollars for this deal. (Yet, he wanted me to do things for him for free? hmmmm)

He got to Alaska and called me. He sent me a picture of the tent that he was staying in and it was pretty plush. I had never seen a tent look so good. I was thinking he was going to rough it in the wilderness of Alaska, this was by no means roughing it.

We kept in touch and he said he was having a problem with his laptop because it had rained there. He needed different specs on the laptop. He was staying in Nome, Alaska.
I told him to go to Anchorage to get a new one because he said the stores in Nome did not have what he needed.

The next thing I know he says that Anchorage doesn’t have any computers either but he has found some in my town that would fit what he needs.

So, I was supposed to “receive” this laptop and send it to him in Nome.

I am thinking, “what century is this guy in?” Has he even heard of Amazon? They apparently ship anywhere.

He said it wouldn’t take any money for me to do this.

I am thinking, “So, when did the postal service become a free service?” Didn’t get that memo.

Plus as crazy as this dude was, it was sure to take more than a few days to get this done.

In my life, time is money. If I am not spending time writing or working on promoting I am wasting time AND money! By the way, if you want to check out my new website…theshatteredvase.com

So, once again, I declined the jerk and he became verbally abusive. So I spammed his phone number and blocked his calls and emails. Then I went to another dating site and soon his mug popped up. Except he looked like he had aged fifty years. So I proceeded to notify the dating site that he was a scammer.

One thing I do have to give this guy. He was honest about what he did for a living. He was a bona fide gold digger.
