A GOD DATE

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time you may have caught on to the secret of my joy.

If I want to kick the fun up on any event or meeting I plan to attend, I do one crucial thing before I set out the door. I ask God to come along.

I have done this on many dates and I have had an absolute blast on these dates, plus there is an added benefit. If God is on the date there is not much temptation to cross the line into sin.

This week while I was on a date with Dan we talked about his God experience.

In October of 2012 I told him I didn’t want to see him anymore. His temper had wedged a hurdle in between us which I was no longer capable of jumping over.

He begged me to take him back. I did not have any desire to do that but God did.

Dan’s heavenly Father enveloped him with love and washed his heart of that anger and bathed him in forgiveness, not only for himself but for me also.

I can tell you without a doubt this is not the same man I met in January of 2008. He is changed and the change is beyond remarkable.

As we were driving in the car he said that he had been “blanketed with the Holy Spirit.”

I could tell, I told him that he had always been good but now he was good in Christ, which has caused him to shine like a diamond.

As I spend more time with this man, I see Christ living through him. I got the funniest feeling last night, like I was dating Christ instead of Dan. Talk about a rocking fun and wonderful date. There is nothing better than dating a Christ man. I mean really, dating Jesus is so amazing!

As I continue to spend more time with Dan I am thinking that this man is bound to rub off on me and then I will be more Christ like too.

It does not surprise me that God would make this a win-win. He seems to always do that.

For anyone who is wanting to make their dating life fun and exciting. I have a suggestion or you. Invite God along, honor him on your date and sit back and enjoy the fantastic ride on the roller coaster of joy. Nothing is better than God.
