There have been times in the recent past where I have felt the Holy Spirit’s nudging to pray for other nations.
The most recent time was with the Syrian conflict.
I was fearful that we would get involved.
I have two sons who are at the age where they could be drafted if a draft was initiated.
My fear was based on my selfish desire as a mother for the safety of my sons.
Even though my desire was selfish, God granted my prayer request and Obama did not choose to engage in warfare.
The latest skirmish in the Ukraine has my spirit distressed again.
It is so easy while living in America to think that life will always be grand. For it is grand in this country.
It is a simple act to think that other people in foreign countries do not cry when their family members are torn to shreds by bombs or beaten by police and armed forces. It is common to shake our heads in disbelief when we see blood oozing from their wounds.
It is easy to think that my small problems are great in comparison to those which live in fear daily.
But I have come to a realization of late.
I have realized through this past year that we, as Americans, do not live in a bubble. We are linked to other nations and it is best that we concern ourselves with their peril as if it were our own.
I ask that those who read this post today lift the concerns of the Ukranian people up to God.
I humbly request that you pray for God to work in Putin’s heart. Only God can melt his stone heart into one of mercy and compassion for the people of Ukraine.
President Obama needs prayer more than any other president previously.
He came into office with no experience in foreign diplomacy.
Many Christians have cut him down and accused him even of being the AntiChrist.
There is no Biblical backing for this kind of “Christian” behavior.
It does not matter if you like him or not. It matters only that you pray that God will give him wisdom and guide him through this treacherous path.
If you don’t think he is a good man, or even a Christian, then is that not all the more reason you should pray fervently for him?
